Phytiris Says Continuing the Conflict Over Police Schedules is Not Worth It

The Minister of Justice and Public Order, Konstantinos Phytiris, stated that it is not worth continuing the conflict regarding the working hours of police officers, emphasizing that solutions must be found within the legal frameworks and without pressure. During his visit to the Paphos Police Directorate, he was informed about the understaffing and the need to strengthen security, especially due to the deployment of police officers for the Presidency of the Council of the EU. Mr. Phytiris requested better utilization of existing personnel and increased patrols, while expressing his satisfaction with the high morale of the police officers. He stressed that the Ministry is at the disposal of the Police leadership to solve problems and that the Police are in a phase of upgrading.
