Performances of "The Glass Menagerie" Continue

The Dendro Theatre and Open Arts are presenting Tennessee Williams' iconic play, "The Glass Menagerie," directed by Thanasis Georgiou. The play, which premiered in 1944, focuses on the loneliness and struggles of a family trying to escape the harsh realities of their lives. Amanda, the mother, is clinging to her memories, her son Tom works in a shoe warehouse and dreams of becoming a poet, and her daughter Laura, due to a physical disability, finds solace in a collection of glass figurines. The arrival of young Jim brings a glimmer of hope, but the characters' personal prisons prove stronger than they imagined. The production explores themes such as memory, family commitment, the search for freedom, and the disappointment of unfulfilled dreams. The performances of Sofia Kalli, Andreas Koutsoumpas, Maria Konstantinou, Thanasis Georgiou, and Stavros Dimopoulos are expected to capture the complexity of the characters. The play will be staged in Nicosia at the Dendro Theatre until January 13th, followed by performances in Larnaca (January 14th, 2026), Paphos (January 16th, 2026), and Limassol (February 24th, 2026). Performances in Nicosia start at 8:30 PM (Sundays at 7:00 PM). The production team consists of renowned professionals, including Elena Kotasvili and Tasos Govatsos for set design, Shona Muir for costumes, Yannis Christofidis for music and sound design, Fotis Nikolaou for choreography, and Vasilis Peteinaris for lighting design. The duration of the performance is 120 minutes, and the general admission price is €15. Tickets are available for pre-sale through Soldout Tickets, Stephanis stores, and by phone at 99 520835.
