Paphos Dam Levels Remain Low Despite Rainfall

Dam levels in the Paphos province remain low, around 23%, despite recent rainfall. The Water Development Department expects continued inflows but does not foresee a significant increase in reserves until the rainy period concludes. The Pomos and Argaka dams overflowed due to heavy rainfall, which brought joy to local communities. The Argaka dam, the smallest of the large dams, operates in conjunction with other dams to irrigate the Chrysochous area. The Xeropotamos river contributes to replenishing the Asprokremmos dam's reserves. The Paphos Provincial Self-Governing Authority is coordinating with the Water Development Department to manage consumption and address water losses, with immediate repairs for leaks.
