Paphos Celebrates Tsiknopempti, Keeping Traditions Alive

Paphos celebrated Tsiknopempti in a traditional manner, reviving customs and traditions. Residents and visitors of the city gathered in neighborhoods, squares, and schools to enjoy grilled meat, music, and dancing. The atmosphere was festive, with traditional songs, carnival costumes, and plenty of fun. The Municipality of Paphos actively participated in the celebrations, offering treats and organizing events in the city center. Tsiknopempti, which marks the peak of meat-eating before Lent, is an important tradition for Cypriot society. The Mayor of Paphos also visited adult and social care centers to share the celebration with residents.
