Panathinaikos AKTOR returned to winning ways with an impressive performance, defeating Baskonia 93-74 in the 23rd round of the EuroLeague. Ergin Ataman's team dominated from the first quarter, building a double-digit lead that they maintained throughout the game. This victory comes at a crucial time, as it boosts the team's morale ahead of the challenging "double week" that follows. Vasilis Toliopoulos was the MVP of the game, scoring 21 points with 5/9 three-pointers and dishing out 5 assists, delivering his best performance in the EuroLeague. Alexandros Samontourov also stood out, with 11 points and 3 rebounds, setting a personal scoring record in the competition. Kostas Sloukas contributed 15 points and Rison Holmes added 12. Ergin Ataman took the opportunity to give playing time to players who haven't had many opportunities so far, such as Toliopoulos and Samontourov, who responded positively and helped significantly in achieving the victory. The performance of these players provides additional depth to the team and increases the coach's options. Panathinaikos played without the injured Kendrick Nunn, Dinos Mitoglou, and Mathias Lessort, while TJ Shorts and Omer Yurtseven were not used at all. Nevertheless, the team managed to impose its dominance and achieve a comfortable victory, demonstrating its quality and depth. In the next round, Panathinaikos will face Maccabi Tel Aviv away from home.
