Panagiotou: Ensuring Uninterrupted Agricultural Production in Cyprus

Minister of Agriculture Maria Panagiotou has pledged that the Cypriot Presidency will prioritize issues concerning the agricultural sector, ensuring uninterrupted production and food security in Europe. The assurance was given following an informal meeting of EU Agriculture Ministers in Brussels, where the need for immediate action to support agriculture was discussed. Ms. Panagiotou emphasized that the Cypriot Presidency will expedite procedures, regardless of changes in the composition of councils and committees. The meeting, which also included European Commissioners for Agriculture, Trade, and Food Safety, highlighted the common position of all ministers on the need to support farmers, who work under challenging conditions. The Cypriot Presidency is committed to listening to the needs of farmers and providing them with the necessary resources to continue their productive activities.
