Palmas Responds to Reports of Exercises with Greece and Israel After Reuters Publication

The Minister of Defence of Cyprus, Vasilis Palmas, confirmed that joint military exercises between Cyprus, Greece and Israel will take place in 2026, as part of the GEET activities planning. The exercises will include training, education and military exercises aimed at improving the capabilities of the three armies. Mr. Palmas stressed that the agreement concerns the exercises of 2026 and that similar exercises will also be held with other countries, such as Egypt and Jordan. He recalled that a joint naval exercise between Cyprus, Greece and Egypt had taken place in November. The confirmation comes after a publication reporting the signing of an agreement for the exercises. Mr. Palmas noted that the date of the exercises has not yet been determined and will be decided by the military staffs of the three countries, depending on needs and conditions. These exercises are part of the strengthening of military cooperation between Cyprus, Greece and Israel, with the aim of promoting regional security and stability.
