Oscar 2026: Giorgos Lanthimos's “Bugonia” Scores Nominations

The American Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced the nominations for the 98th Academy Awards, to be presented on March 15, 2026. “Sinners” leads with the most nominations, covering key and technical categories, including Best Picture and Directing. “One Battle After Another” follows with 12 nominations, also in important categories such as Directing and performances. Giorgos Lanthimos's film, “Bugonia,” received 4 nominations, in artistic categories, including Best Picture and Emma Stone's nomination for Best Actress, as well as for music and adapted screenplay. Additionally, a new award category for best casting is being introduced, while the category for best action scenes will be added to the 100th Awards Ceremony in 2028.
