KEOB: Cyprus Remains Safe and Attractive for Investment and Tourism

The KEOB expresses the view that Cyprus remains a safe and reliable destination for investment, business, and quality tourism, despite recent geopolitical developments. It emphasizes the importance of maintaining economic stability and security, as well as the resilience of the Cypriot economy to crises. The KEOB acknowledges the challenges facing certain sectors, such as tourism and pharmaceuticals, but expresses confidence that they will be addressed with prudence and effectiveness. Furthermore, the KEOB calls on all Cypriots to contribute to clarifying the true picture of the country's security and eliminating misconceptions that have been created abroad. It suggests reducing tension in public discourse and returning to normalcy. Regarding European affairs, the KEOB requests the immediate restoration of scheduling and the holding of EU meetings and events in Cyprus, which had been postponed due to a misjudgment of the risk. The President of KEOB, Giorgos Pantelidis, will personally submit this request to the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, and the President of the European Council, Antonio Costa, in Brussels. The KEOB is committed to continuing to monitor developments in the region and contribute to public dialogue, with the aim of ensuring economic stability, protecting business activity, and sustainable development of the Cypriot economy.
