Norway: Princess Mette-Marit's Health Deteriorates

The health of Princess Mette-Marit of Norway has deteriorated again, according to her spokesperson. As a result, the princess will not be able to participate in the upcoming visit of the Belgian royal couple to Norway. Princess Mette-Marit suffers from pulmonary fibrosis, a chronic disease that causes scarring of the lungs and respiratory problems. In December, the Norwegian royal court announced that Mette-Marit would need a lung transplant due to the worsening of her condition. Simultaneously, the princess is facing other challenges, as it was revealed that she had contact with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, while her eldest son, Marius Borg Høiby, is on trial for rape. The Minister for European Affairs, Marilena Raouna, welcomed the agreement, emphasizing that it strengthens democratic participation and gender equality. The regulation facilitates the balance between parliamentary duties and motherhood, supporting the participation of women in European politics.
