Northern Lights Visible in Greece Due to Geomagnetic Storm

A powerful geomagnetic storm of category G4, the strongest in the last 20 years, has caused spectacular displays of the Northern Lights in various parts of the world, including Greece. The solar storm, which began on Monday, has the potential to cause problems with power grids and satellite operations. In Greece, the Northern Lights were observed in Chortiati, Thessaloniki, where the sky was illuminated with shades of red and purple, as well as in Corfu. The phenomenon, usually visible only in extreme northern latitudes, became visible in unusually southern locations due to the storm's intensity.
