New York City Recycles Christmas Trees Through Composting

New York City is implementing a mandatory Christmas tree recycling program through composting. The city's Department of Health is responsible for collecting the trees and converting them into organic material used to improve plant health. Each year, Mulchfest is held, a festival where citizens can watch the tree shredding process. Last year, over 52,000 trees were recycled, and this year's festival will take place on the weekend of January 10th and 11th.
