New Trump Tariffs on South Korean Products - South Korea Seeks Talks

US President Donald Trump announced an increase to 25% in tariffs on imports of cars, lumber, and pharmaceutical products from South Korea, accusing Seoul of not implementing the trade agreement with the US. South Korea expressed surprise at the announcement, stating it had received no prior notice, and declared its desire to begin talks with Washington as soon as possible. South Korean Trade Minister Kim Jung-kuan plans to travel to the US to discuss the matter with his American counterpart, Howard Lattner.
