New Tax System to Take Effect in Cyprus on January 1, 2026

The new tax system for businesses and individuals in Cyprus will come into effect on January 1, 2026, following the approval of the relevant legislation by the House of Representatives. The Employers and Industrialists Federation (OEB) made a significant contribution to shaping the final amendments, aiming to strengthen the Cypriot economy and the competitiveness of businesses. Key changes include an increase in corporate tax to 15%, a reduction in dividend withholding tax to 5%, the abolition of deemed dividend distribution and the Stamp Duties Laws. Additionally, the responsibility of the Director for the entire duration of their term is introduced, even after resignation, and the tax brackets for individuals are modified, with new deductions for children and other categories. The OEB is committed to monitoring the implementation of the reform and informing its members.
