New Evidence in Accountant Case: Another €1.7 Million Allegedly Embezzled

New evidence has emerged in the case of the 61-year-old accountant accused of embezzling funds from her employer. In addition to the initial charge of misusing over €300,000, a new complaint has surfaced alleging the embezzlement of an additional €1.7 million from a businessman, who discovered the fraud after an audit. The suspect is alleged to have transferred the money through remittances to accounts of related companies or through checks to other individuals. Police are continuing the investigation, taking testimonies and checking bank accounts, the Land Registry, and companies connected to the suspect. The 61-year-old, who worked in the accounting department for over three decades, denies the charges, while the total value of the money allegedly misappropriated exceeds €2 million. The case is considered particularly serious due to the nature of the fraud and the large amount of money involved.
