Nephew of Khamenei: His Death is a 'Step Forward,' Regime 'Must Disappear'

The nephew of Iran's former supreme leader, Ali Khamenei, Mahmoud Moradiani, told AFP he is happy about his uncle's death, considering it a step forward for Iran. Moradiani, a doctor living in France and opposing the regime, expressed hope that Khamenei’s death will lead to change and allow the people to express themselves freely. He acknowledged that war and military interventions slow down the political process, but believes it might have been a necessary stage for the country to achieve change. He predicted the regime will not survive and expressed hope for peaceful protests and its overthrow.
