NATO Launches Arctic Sentry to Bolster Presence in the Arctic

NATO announced the launch of the Arctic Sentry mission, aimed at strengthening its presence in the Arctic. The move comes as part of efforts to de-escalate tensions sparked by Donald Trump's desire to take over Greenland. The mission will coordinate increased military activity by allies in the region, including military exercises. The Supreme Allied Commander Europe, General Alexus Grynkewich, emphasized the Alliance's commitment to protecting its members and maintaining stability in the Arctic. Britain also announced it would play a significant role in the mission, while the JEF is planning military exercises in Iceland, the Denmark Strait, and Norway.
