N. Papadopoulos’ Dangerous Position – “If You Won’t Vote for the Bill, Don’t Speak”

AKEL MP Andreas Pasourtidis denounced that the government seeks to bypass the courts and give a three-member committee, appointed by the Council of Ministers, the power to allow the Director of the CYTA to monitor citizens. During a discussion in the Parliament, the President of DIKO, Nikolas Papadopoulos, allegedly asked AKEL MPs not to express their objections, as they do not intend to vote for the bill, suggesting that AKEL leave the others to shape the text that will secure the majority. Mr. Pasourtidis described this position as dangerous.
