Study for Larnaca Marina: Envisions State and CPA Cooperation

The study for the development of the Larnaca marina and port, presented by the Hellenic Fund, envisages cooperation between the state and the Cyprus Ports Authority (CPA) for the implementation of the projects. The aim is to rapidly implement the projects, meet market needs and minimize risk. The Minister of Transport, Communications and Works, Alexis Vafeades, stated that the CPA has the funds to implement the projects. The study proposes the separate development of the port and marina, with an emphasis on utilizing the port's land areas to serve the needs of the city. The Minister stressed the importance of state involvement and the use of state funds to control the implementation of the projects and avoid failures. The study examines the operation of the marina and port, as well as the need for land areas for the effective operation of the port. The Minister stated that the Larnaca Development Committee will play a role in monitoring the implementation of the projects. The government is committed to implementing the projects, but recognizes the need for careful planning and coordination of all involved services to achieve the goals.
