Mystery in Dutch Church: Remains Found That May Belong to Legendary D'Artagnan

Remains that may belong to the legendary French musketeer D'Artagnan have been discovered in a church in Maastricht, Netherlands. The discovery was made beneath the floor of the Saints Peter and Paul Church by Deacon Joos Valké. According to Valké, there is strong evidence that the remains belong to Charles de Batz de Castelmore, known as Count d'Artagnan, who was killed during the siege of Maastricht in 1673. A bullet and a coin from 1660 were also found in the tomb. Samples have been sent for DNA analysis to confirm the identity of the remains.
