Multiple Explosions Rock Riyadh

Multiple powerful explosions rocked Riyadh on Wednesday evening, hours after Iran warned it would target energy facilities in Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and Qatar, in retaliation for a strike on the South Pars gas field. Residents reported at least four strong explosions, while authorities confirmed the activation of air defense systems. Witnesses reported seeing an interceptor missile launched into the sky. So far, there is no official information on casualties or damage. Residents received an emergency alert for an “hostile air threat” and were urged to seek shelter. Saudi Arabia has repeatedly been the target of missile and drone attacks since the start of the conflict between the US-Israel and Iran. Diplomatic observers estimate that the new incident may signal a further escalation of tensions in the region. Simultaneously, Riyadh is hosting consultations of Foreign Ministers of Arab and Islamic countries on security in the region, while the war between the US-Israel and Iran has entered its third week.
