Ministry of Health: Situation in Hospitals Manageable - Second Wave of Flu Possible in March

The Minister of Health, Neofytos Charalambides, stated that the situation in hospitals is manageable after the increase in hospitalizations due to seasonal infections, without the need for additional measures. Visits to Accident and Emergency Departments are at the same levels as last year, a challenge faced every winter. Cases of flu, RSV, and COVID are showing a downward trend, but the situation is being closely monitored. There has been a significant response to vaccination, with free immunization for infants through the GHS and a vaccine available for adults. A second wave of flu is possible in March, but it is estimated to be milder and the B strain will prevail.
