Medical Students to Stage Protest Outside Parliament

Medical students at the University of Cyprus are preparing a dynamic protest outside the House of Representatives on Thursday, March 12th, at 4:00 PM. The mobilization is organized in response to the delay in the advancement of the bill for the establishment of University Clinics and Hospitals. Students argue that the creation of these structures is vital for the quality of medical education, the upgrading of clinical services, and the strengthening of the public health system. The initiative comes exclusively from the students, with Andria Papapetrou (5th year) as coordinator and an organizing team consisting of students from various years. The event will begin with a meeting at SEKKI at 3:15 PM and will continue with a march to Parliament. Students aim to exert pressure for the immediate advancement of the bill, emphasizing that the delay directly affects their education and the future of the Cypriot healthcare system. They believe that the creation of university clinics and hospitals will offer students better opportunities for practical training and specialization. The organization of the protest is an attempt by students to make their voices heard and contribute to solving an important problem for the medical community and society as a whole. They hope that their mobilization will raise awareness among those responsible and lead to positive developments.
