Maria Corina Machado: “We will make Venezuela the energy hub of America” after Maduro’s arrest

Maria Corina Machado, leader of the Venezuelan opposition, stated that following the arrest of Nicolas Maduro by US forces and his transfer to the United States, her country will be transformed into an energy hub for America. She emphasized the need to restore the rule of law and open up markets, as well as to ensure the security of foreign investment. Machado, who received the 2025 Nobel Peace Prize, expressed her desire to return to Venezuela as soon as possible, despite the lack of support from Donald Trump for her leadership. This statement comes after a US military operation that led to Maduro's capture, marking a potential turning point for Venezuela, which holds the world's largest proven reserves of crude oil. Leveraging these reserves and creating a stable investment environment are key priorities for the opposition.
