Cyprus is expected to be affected by low pressure and unstable air mass, with the possibility of rain, storms and snow in the mountains. The Department of Meteorology has issued a Yellow Warning for storms. Today, the weather will be mainly cloudy with local rain and storms, mainly inland and in the mountains, with the possibility of hail. Snow or sleet is expected on the highest peaks of Troodos. The winds will initially be variable, weak, and gradually southwesterly to northwesterly, weak to moderate. The temperature will rise to around 17 degrees Celsius inland and on the coast, and to 6 degrees in the mountains. In the evening, the weather will be partly cloudy with the possibility of isolated showers in the north. For the next few days, intermittent cloudy skies are forecast with the possibility of local rain and storms, mainly in the south, inland and in the mountains. The temperature will rise slightly on Thursday and Saturday. The snow height at Chionistra is 24 centimeters. The public is urged to be prepared for weather changes and to take the necessary protective measures, especially during storms and in the mountains.
