Σύμφωνα με το Εορτολόγιο, σήμερα, Τετάρτη 25 Μαρτίου, η Ορθόδοξη Εκκλησία τιμά, τη μεγάλη θεομητορική εορτή του Ευαγγελισμού της Υπεραγίας Θεοτόκου και Αειπαρθένου Μαρίας, μία από τις λαμπρότερες ημέρες της Χριστιανοσύνης.

Ο Ευαγγελισμός της Θεοτόκου
Ο Ευαγγελισμός είναι η στιγμή κατά την οποία ο Αρχάγγελος Γαβριήλ αναγγέλλει στην Παναγία ότι θα γεννήσει τον Υιό του Θεού. Με το «χαίρε, κεχαριτωμένη», αρχίζει το μυστήριο της Θείας Οικονομίας και της σωτηρίας του ανθρώπου.
Η ταπεινή αποδοχή της Παναγίας – «ἰδού ἡ δούλη Κυρίου, γένοιτό μοι κατά τὸ ῥῆμά σου» – αποτελεί κορυφαία πράξη πίστης και ελευθερίας. Μέσα από αυτήν τη συγκατάθεση ανοίγει ο δρόμος για την Ενανθρώπηση του Χριστού και τη σωτηρία του κόσμου.
Η Εκκλησία τιμά την ημέρα με ιδιαίτερη λαμπρότητα, καθώς πρόκειται για χαρμόσυνη εορτή μέσα στη Σαρακοστή, επιτρέποντας ακόμη και την κατάλυση ιχθύος.

This feast has deep roots in the tradition and faith of the Greeks, and is an integral part of their religious identity. The Annunciation of the Theotokos is a feast that unites the faithful and calls them to reflect on the message of hope and love that comes with the birth of Christ.
