Mankind’s Folly: A Documentary on Climate Change in the Bering Strait

George Avgeropoulos' new documentary, "MANKIND’S FOLLY", explores the impact of climate change on the Bering Strait and the lives of its inhabitants. The film documents the rapid melting of permafrost, which releases large amounts of carbon dioxide and methane, accelerating the climate crisis. Through the stories of two protagonists, Nikita in Siberia and Martha in Alaska, the documentary highlights the global reach of the consequences of human activity. It also emphasizes the contrast between scientific warnings and political and economic priorities focused on exploiting Arctic resources. The documentary received a Special Commendation at Prix Europa 2025 and will be screened at the Pantheon Cinema in Nicosia in April 2026.
