Low Water Inflow to Larnaca and Famagusta Dams

Water inflow to the dams in Larnaca and Famagusta remains low compared to the same period last year, despite recent rainfall. According to data from the Water Development Department on March 23rd, Kalavasos Dam has a fullness of 8.4%, Lefkara Dam 12.3%, and Dipotamos Dam 25.9%. Achna Dam in Famagusta is almost empty with a fullness of only 2.1%. Specifically, Kalavasos Dam recorded an inflow of 0.182 million cubic meters of water in the last three days, with a total inflow since October 1st reaching 1.064 million cubic meters. The stored amount is 1.432 million cubic meters, significantly lower than the same period last year (4.726 million cubic meters). Lefkara Dam received 0.205 million cubic meters of water in the last three days, with a total inflow of 0.732 million cubic meters since October 1st. The stored amount is 1.702 million cubic meters, also lower than last year (4.011 million cubic meters). Dipotamos Dam recorded an inflow of 0.180 million cubic meters in the last three days, with a total inflow of 1.461 million cubic meters since October 1st. The stored amount is 4.009 million cubic meters, while last year it was 5.556 million cubic meters. Achna Dam has not seen any inflow since October 1st and the stored amount is very low (0.142 million cubic meters) compared to last year (1.375 million cubic meters).
