LIVE: Inauguration Ceremony of the Cypriot Presidency – Europe's Eyes on Our Country

The inauguration ceremony of the Cypriot Presidency of the Council of the European Union has begun in Nicosia, at the building of the Theatrical Organization of Cyprus (THOK). Officials and guests are arriving, and the President of the Republic, Nikos Christodoulides, and Philippa Karsera are welcoming the heads of state and governments. Among the first to arrive were the Secretary-General of the Arab League, Ahmed Aboul Gheit, the President of Lebanon, Joseph Khalil Aoun, and the President of Iraq, Abdul Latif Rashid. The Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, Jasem Albudaiwi, the President of Moldova, Maia Sandu, the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, and the President of the European Council, Antonio Costa, are also expected to attend.
