Lidl Cyprus Presents New Socioeconomic Impact Study for 2024

Lidl Cyprus has published its 2024 socioeconomic impact study, demonstrating its significant contribution to the Cypriot economy and society. Lidl's total contribution to GDP in 2024 amounted to €133 million, representing 0.43% of Cyprus's GDP. The company supports 2,000 jobs (direct, indirect, and induced) and contributed €22 million to state revenues, 0.17% of total tax revenues. Lidl Cyprus maintains strong partnerships with over 400 Cypriot suppliers, boosting local production and the circular economy. Exports of Cypriot products through Lidl's network reached €28.8 million in 2024, with halloumi dominating exports (€26 million). The company sources 100% of its fresh meat (chicken, pork, beef) from Cypriot producers and over 260 dairy and cheese product codes from 13 local suppliers. Furthermore, Lidl Cyprus invested €589,700 in sponsorships, donations, and environmental and social initiatives in 2024, with €564,600 allocated to social and environmental actions and €25,100 to product donations to vulnerable groups.
