Lawsuit Filed Against Charlie Hebdo Over Cartoon Mocking Cran-Montana Tragedy

A couple of lawyers have filed a lawsuit in Switzerland against the French satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo over a cartoon mocking the tragedy in Cran-Montana. The cartoon, published on the day of national mourning for the victims of the fire, depicts skiers with burns and references to a film, considered by the lawyers as a dehumanization of the victims. The lawyers argue that respect for human dignity outweighs freedom of expression and are seeking an investigation and compensation for the victims. Charlie Hebdo declined to comment on the lawsuit.
