Larnaca Water Board President: Working to Improve Water Services and Conservation

The President of the Larnaca Water Board (EOA), Angelos Chatzicharalambous, stated that the organization is systematically working to strengthen water and sewage infrastructure, as well as promote water conservation. The statement was made at a water event in Larnaca, where the urgent need to address the water crisis in Cyprus was emphasized, especially in anticipation of a difficult summer. Mr. Chatzicharalambous stressed that the protection and rational management of water is a collective responsibility, while also mentioning the need to inform and raise awareness among citizens. The Mayor of Larnaca and President of the Union of Municipalities, Andreas Vyras, emphasized the importance of prevention and education of the new generations regarding the value of water. He underlined that protecting water is vital for survival and the future of our children, and that Local Government recognizes the historical significance of water. The event aimed to bring society closer to the issue of water and give a voice to stakeholders, organizations and citizens to express their commitment. The message promoted was that 'Every Drop Counts', and that small daily choices can make a big difference. Both officials agreed that addressing the water crisis requires joint action and the development of an appropriate culture, as well as recognizing the seriousness of the situation by all citizens.
