Larnaca Tourism Remains High - Two New Hotels Coming in 2026 and 27 More in the Following Years

Larnaca has concluded its best tourism year in recent times and expects continued positive momentum in 2025, boosted by the Cypriot Presidency of the Council of the EU. A significant increase in arrivals was observed from Israel, Poland, and Germany, with a slight increase also from the United Kingdom. Tourism unions express optimism for 2026, based on current interest and bookings. December moved at higher levels compared to 2023, with hotel occupancy rates reaching 70%. The movement was strengthened by Cypriots who chose Larnaca for the festive events. The main tourist flows come from Germany, the Scandinavian countries, the United Kingdom and Israel. The bodies of Larnaca are preparing for the major international tourism exhibitions, such as those in Berlin and London, and will continue promotion campaigns through social media. A significant boost is expected from the addition of two new hotel units in 2026: a boutique hotel in the city center and the luxurious “Palm Beach”. “Palm Beach” will be a mixed-use development worth €100 million, including a 5-star hotel, luxury residences, an apartment tower, dining and entertainment venues, a wellness center and conference spaces. In addition, the addition of another 27 tourist units is expected in the coming years, mainly through the conversion of existing buildings, further strengthening Larnaca's tourism product.
