Larnaca: Investigations into Third Attempted Murder in Days - 5 Greek Cypriots in Court

In Larnaca, police are investigating a third attempted murder in a matter of days. An arrest warrant has been issued for 30-year-old Stelios Georgiou, following an investigation into an attempted murder, causing grievous bodily harm, robbery and assault, committed against a 32-year-old Greek Cypriot last Friday. Georgiou is considered a “dangerous individual” and police have released his details and photograph to the public. According to police, the incident does not appear to have racist or other motives, but is due to personal differences between the perpetrator and the victim. The 32-year-old is hospitalized at Larnaca General Hospital in serious but stable condition. During a search of the apartment rented by the 32-year-old, a small amount of crystalline substance, traces of cannabis, syringes, two precision scales and 300 euros were found. The apartment had been rented through Airbnb. Police are also investigating the possibility that the incident is related to drugs. The case is ongoing and further developments are expected. Police are urging anyone with information about Stelios Georgiou to contact the authorities.
