Cyprus-France in Talks for Approximately 200 Armored Vehicles

Cyprus is in advanced negotiations with France to acquire approximately 80 Griffon and 100 Serval armored vehicles, potentially equipped with Akeron MP anti-tank missiles. This agreement is linked to the European SAFE program, which provides funding for defense procurement. The French Directorate-General of Armaments (DGA) is handling the procurement on behalf of Cyprus, following an intergovernmental agreement model. Discussions are also underway for the upgrade of around 80 existing VAB armored vehicles. Cyprus has already made previous defense purchases from France, including Sherpa armored vehicles. As of now, there has been no official confirmation from the Cypriot side, and the agreement has not been finalized.
