The Cyprus Land Development Organization (KOAG) plans to implement two new projects for the construction of housing units as part of the affordable rental scheme by 2026. The President of the Organization, Elena Kousiou Chatzidimitriou, stated that a total of 247 housing units will be delivered by the end of 2026. Two major projects are already underway, in Agios Nikolaos in Limassol (138 apartments) and Strovolos in Nicosia (54 apartments), with state funding of €28 million. Ms. Kousiou emphasized the importance of state support for the implementation of the projects. KOAG is also preparing two new projects, one of which is expected to be located in Limassol. In addition, the Ianthi Project in Larnaca with 24 apartments was completed in 2025, and projects have started in other areas. The Organization is looking for ways to improve the 'Renovate and Rent' scheme, which did not have the expected response, and is promoting the availability of state housing schemes.
