Kickboxing: Greek Athlete Attacked After Knockout Victory in Serbia

A kickboxing match in Serbia ended in violence, with Greek athlete Giannis Tsoukalas being attacked immediately after his knockout victory. A group of approximately fifty people invaded the ring and attacked Tsoukalas, causing injuries that required hospitalization. Tsoukalas had defeated his Serbian opponent, Vahid Kičara, when individuals from Kičara's team entered the ring and assaulted the Greek athlete. The moments of the attack were captured by spectators with their mobile phones. He was rushed to a hospital in Belgrade for precautionary checks but was discharged as his health condition is not a cause for concern. The attack has shocked the sports community.
