Karsedo's Legacy and the Next Chapter at Paphos

Published January 5, 2026, 05:23

Juan Carlos Karsedo has bid farewell to Paphos, taking over as head coach of Spartak Moscow, after two years and six months of successful tenure. During his time, Karsedo led Paphos to win the Cyprus Cup in 2024 and to a historic run in the Conference League, reaching the “16”. The Paphos administration had shown patience and support for the Spanish coach, despite initial challenges, and was vindicated by the team's successes. Paphos, under Karsedo's guidance, also won the Cyprus championship for the first time in its history and secured its participation in the Champions League. In total, Karsedo achieved 76 wins, 21 draws, and 32 losses in 129 games with Paphos. The announcement of his departure came on an emotionally charged evening, as Paphos thanks him for his contribution. The Paphos administration has already begun the search for Karsedo's successor, with the name of Vitor Bruno already mentioned. The selection will be made with particular care, so that the new coach can continue the successful work of the Spanish coach and keep Paphos at a high level.
