Karoyian Emphasizes the Need to Strengthen the National Guard

The President of the Democratic Rally, Mario Karoyian, visited outposts of the National Guard and expressed his respect and gratitude for the work of its personnel and conscripts. During the visit, he stressed the need to strengthen the National Guard in both equipment and manpower, given the ongoing Turkish occupation. Karoyian stated that the new generation represents hope for Cyprus, provided they receive the appropriate incentives and opportunities. The Democratic Rally pledged to continue supporting the National Guard, promoting initiatives and proposals to enhance its deterrent capability, both within and outside Parliament. Karoyian emphasized the importance of seriousness, responsibility, and prudence in approaching national issues. Furthermore, the President of the Democratic Rally referred to international developments and Turkey's expansionist policy, highlighting the need to resume substantive negotiations from the point where they were interrupted in Crans Montana, with the aim of a fair and sustainable solution. This visit is part of the Democratic Rally's effort to be close to the issues of defense and security of Cyprus. In closing the visit, Mario Karoyian wished health and happiness to the conscripts and their families, expressing hope for a Cyprus liberated from occupation, with development, prosperity, and a better future for the new generation.
