Issue of Tychikos and Statute Amendment in the Holy Synod. What the Archbishop said about Abbakum

Tomorrow's session of the Holy Synod will focus on the issue of Bishop Tychikos and his intention to appeal to the Justice system, as well as the start of discussions on amending the Synod's Statute regarding the election of Metropolitans. The Archbishop of Cyprus expressed concern about Bishop Tychikos's recourse to the political courts, describing it as outside of church practice. The proposal for the direct election of Metropolitans by the Holy Synod will also be discussed. Regarding the Monastery of Saint Abbakum, the Archbishop stated that the Church has ended the issue with the dismissal of those involved. He emphasized that the State has no right to further intervene and that the sacraments performed by dismissed individuals are invalid.
