Israel Bans 37 International NGOs from Gaza - Risk of Humanitarian Aid Delays

The Israeli government has confirmed it has banned access to the Gaza Strip for 37 major international humanitarian organizations, accusing them of failing to submit lists of their employees, which is now officially required for “security” reasons. This measure raises concerns about further delays in humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip, which has suffered immense destruction after years of conflict, with the majority of its residents urgently needing shelter, medical care and food. Among the organizations affected are Doctors Without Borders (MSF), the Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC), Care, World Vision, and Oxfam. These organizations claim that Israel is trying to marginalize humanitarian actors and control Palestinian workers. The European Union and the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights have expressed their concern over the measure.
