Iraq: Restart of Oil Exports from Kirkuk Pipeline

Iraq has restarted oil exports from the Kirkuk pipeline to the Turkish port of Ceyhan, announced Iraqi Oil Minister Hayan Abdel Ghani. Initially, the pipeline will transport 170,000 barrels per day, gradually increasing to 250,000 BPD. The resumption of exports followed an agreement between the Iraqi government and the Kurdistan Regional Government. The state oil company SOMO signed agreements with international carriers and buyers for the export of crude oil via Turkey, Jordan and Syria. The resumption of exports is an important step for Iraq's economic recovery and strengthening energy security in the region.
