Iranian FM: No Request for Talks with the US

Iran's Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi, stated that there has been no contact with US Special Envoy Steve Witkoff, nor any request for negotiations from Iran's side. This statement comes in response to President Trump's reports of deploying additional military forces to the region and his warnings to Tehran regarding the suppression of protesters and its nuclear program. Araghchi emphasized that Iran is willing to talk only in the absence of threats and excessive demands. Simultaneously, Iranian President Masoud Pezeskian expressed Tehran's willingness to participate in any process to prevent war, within the framework of international law. Turkey's Foreign Minister, Hakan Fidan, urged the US to resolve its differences with Iran gradually, starting with the nuclear program, warning that a comprehensive agreement would be difficult for Iran to accept. Turkey states it opposes any foreign intervention in Iran.
