Iran Threatens to Plunge the Gulf into 'Darkness'

Iran has threatened to plunge the Gulf into darkness if its energy infrastructure is attacked, responding to a 48-hour deadline issued by Donald Trump to open the Strait of Hormuz. The semi-official news agency 'Mehr' published a map marking power plants in Gulf countries, highlighting that 70-80% of power generation units are within range of Iranian missiles. Furthermore, Iran has begun charging passage fees for ships through the Strait of Hormuz, presenting the measure as part of a new policy of controlling the sea route. An Iranian MP stated that these fees could reach $2 million per ship.
