Iran Ready for Compromises on Nuclear Program if US Lifts Sanctions

Iran has stated its willingness to compromise on its nuclear program, but only if the United States demonstrates a willingness to lift economic sanctions. Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Majid Takht-Ravanchi emphasized that the initiative for reaching an agreement now lies with the US, ahead of the new round of talks in Geneva. He also stated that it is too early to discuss the possible transfer of enriched uranium to other countries. Takht-Ravanchi reiterated Tehran's firm position that its missile program is non-negotiable, highlighting the role of missiles in defending the country against attacks from Israel and the US. Tehran believes that maintaining its defensive capabilities is essential for its security. Regarding reports of potential support from former President Trump for regime change in Iran, Takht-Ravanchi said there is no evidence of such a thing in the private messages received by the Iranian side. This suggests an attempt to separate official rhetoric from possible behind-the-scenes contacts. Iran, despite accusations, continues to deny that it is seeking to develop nuclear weapons, although it has increased uranium enrichment to levels that cause concern. In addition, the country has restricted access for international inspectors to its nuclear facilities and has advanced its ballistic missile program, further escalating international tensions.
