Intensive Investigations into 78-Year-Old's Death and Possible Poisoning of Four Others

Investigations are ongoing in Larnaca into the death of a 78-year-old man and the possible poisoning of four others. The incident began when the 78-year-old's wife fell ill and was hospitalized, where he later died. During a coffee gathering at the deceased's home, three people lost consciousness and were also taken to hospital, where two received antidotes for possible poisoning and the third is in a comatose state, but with improving health. A water cooler used to make the drink has been seized by police, and initial tests show that everyone had drunk from it. Samples have been taken from the hospitalized individuals and from the 78-year-old's body for scientific examination, and an autopsy is expected to be performed in the coming days to determine the exact cause of death. Meanwhile, a family member has been arrested for possession of liquid narcotics and is known to the YKAN. Investigators are considering all possibilities, including the victim's medical history. The scene has been cordoned off and guarded by police, while the investigation is ongoing to determine what caused the reactions in the people who consumed the drink. The temperature is expected to rise gradually in the coming days.
