Increase in Violence Against Women in Occupied Territories Over the Past 6 Years, According to Turkish Cypriot Media

According to reports in Turkish Cypriot media, incidents of violence against women in the occupied territories have increased over the past six years. During the period 2020-2025, 6,060 cases were recorded, with 2,453 involving physical violence. Additionally, 17 cases of sexual violence and harassment were reported to the "police" during the period 2024-2025. These figures indicate a worrying trend of increasing violence against women in the region.
