Increase in Laying Hens and Broiler Chickens in 2025

According to data from the Statistical Service, the number of laying hens increased by 17.8% in 2025 compared to 2024, reaching 657,870. At the same time, broiler chickens also increased by 4.4%, totaling 14,850,360. Poultry hatching eggs also saw an increase, both for laying hens (3.2% increase, 907,030 eggs) and for broiler chickens (3.2% increase, 18,588,900 eggs). Increases were also recorded in the number of laying hens in December 2025, although to a lesser extent. However, in December 2025, a 59% decrease was observed in laying hens compared to December 2024, and a 76% decrease compared to November. Conversely, broiler chickens increased by 6.1% year-on-year and by 13% month-on-month.
