Improved Condition of Four Patients Hospitalized in Larnaca General Hospital

The clinical condition of the four individuals hospitalized at the Larnaca General Hospital, after consuming water from a cooler, is showing improvement. One of the patients, who was initially intubated, has now been extubated, a development described as particularly encouraging by the Cyprus Public Health Organization (OKYPY). The remaining three patients are also gradually improving. The spokesperson for OKYPY, Charalambos Charilaou, stated that the attending physicians are optimistic about the patients' full recovery and their early discharge from the hospital, although they cannot predict an exact timeline. Samples have been sent for histological and toxicological examinations, the results of which are expected within a reasonable timeframe. The Police continue to investigate the incident, while OKYPY avoids making any assessments regarding possible poisoning or concern for the general population, emphasizing that the incident appears to be isolated. The priority remains the care of the patients and the awaiting of the examination results.
