Important Meetings for President of Cyprus with Costa and Zelenskyy

The President of Cyprus, Nikos Christodoulides, will hold bilateral meetings with key leaders and officials as part of the Inauguration Ceremony of the Cypriot Presidency of the Council of the European Union, on Wednesday, January 7, 2026. The meetings include the President of the European Council, Antonio Costa, with the aim of coordinating European priorities and strengthening European strategic autonomy. In addition, he will meet with the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, at a critical time for European support to Ukraine, with an emphasis on peace and upholding international law. He will also meet with the President of Lebanon, Joseph Aoun, to discuss stability in the Eastern Mediterranean and enhance EU-Southern Neighborhood cooperation. The President of Cyprus will receive the Minister of Petroleum of Egypt, who will represent the country's President at the ceremony. Following the ceremony, an official dinner will be hosted in honor of the heads of delegations, during which further contacts will be made with the President of Moldova, the President of Iraq, and other high-ranking officials. These contacts are expected to contribute to the promotion of the interests of Cyprus and the European Union, as well as to address common challenges at regional and international level.
